It seems that now more than ever, early childhood care professionals are feeling a need to advocate for their profession. Staffing shortages are leading to higher burn-out and overall less support for professionals in a field full of many demands. NDECA invites professionals who care for young children to gather together to learn from Carol Garboden Murray's book "Illuminating Care: The Pedagogy and Practice of Care in Early Childhood Communities". We will talk about the "pedagogy of care" and how we can advocate for our profession by elevating care. In Part 1 of this series, we'll discuss Murray's seven lamps of care: Care is education, care is a right, care is a partnership, care is bodily, care is an art, care is a science, and care is what makes us human.
This is event is approved for 2 Growing Futures Basic Licensing training hours.
